When visiting “The Mellow Bar”, our tasting room at the distillery, you may have a chance to try rare spirits or experimental components. Our approach to the Travel Retail Exclusive whisky is to bring “The Mellow Bar” experience to the world traveler.
We have created a richer and deeper flavour experience by elevating our core expressions, “SINGLE MALT KANOSUKE,” “KANOSUKE HIOKI POT STILL” and “KANOSUKE DOUBLE DISTILLERY.” The unique characteristics of each expression have been enhanced by either the addition of spirit from rare casks or increasing the ABV.
 

SINGLE MALT KANOSUKE – The Mellow Bar Reserve

Created from our 3 unique pot stills and then matured in our re-charred shochu casks previously holding “MELLOWED KOZURU”. By adding a hint of Mizunara casks, we have enriched our flagship single malt with full flavour and rich depth in a new expression for the discerning whisky traveler. Bottled at 55% ABV.

AROMA: Lemon peel, Custard cream, Caramelized Japanese candy

KANOSUKE HIOKI POT STILL- The Mellow Bar Reserve

New style of Japanese whisky inspired by Irish pot still whisky. We distil this whisky from both malted and un-malted barley at our Hioki Distillery in stainless steel pot stills under vacuum pressure. The whisky is then matured at our Kanosuke Distillery warehouse in both new American white oak casks and ex-Bourbon barrels and then bottled at 61% ABV, to offer an enriched, cask strength version of our pot still whisky.

KANOSUKE DOUBLE DISTILLERY – The Mellow Bar Reserve

Our premium Japanese blended whisky, honoring our founder’s grandfather – Kanosuke Komasa, brings out the distinctive characteristics of each distillery, a single malt whisky distilled at Kanosuke Distillery and a pot still whisky distilled at Hioki Distillery. Blended with a hint of Mizunara casks creates a perfect fusion of Japanese and Western flavours, it features a lingering aftertaste reminiscent of a sea breeze drifting through the distillery. Bottled at 58% ABV.
