USA – Where to find KANOSUKE

SINGLE MALT KANOSUKE

This core expression is the first standard single malt Japanese whisky from Kanosuke Distillery. Made with non-peated malt, it is distilled in our distinctive three pot stills and then aged in re-charred American white oak casks previously used for maturing “MELLOWED KOZURU”. (A cask aged shochu made by Komasa Jyozo, a parent company of Kanosuke Distillery.)

 

This expression is Influenced and inspired by our terroir – the slowly setting sun and the warm, rich sea breeze brought out by the microclimate of Hioki, Kagoshima. Slowly crafted by our people, please enjoy the new, yet somehow nostalgic taste, that is like a sunset in its beauty and complexity.

KANOSUKE HIOKI POT STILL

This core expression is a single grain whisky made at our Hioki Distillery using unmalted and malted barley. Inspired by potstill whisky and techniques derived from shochu marking , the whisky is mashed and fermented in a unique process, then distilled carefully in a stainless steel pot still. Maturation follows in both new American white oak casks and bourbon barrels at the Kanosuke Distillery warehouse.

 

Enjoy a powerful yet gentle new Japanese whisky nurtured in Hioki (meaning “Place where picturesque sun sets”).

KANOSUKE DOUBLE DISTILLERY

This core expression is a premium blended Japanese whisky made from two distilleries, Kanosuke Distillery and Hioki Distilery.

 

The carefully crafted recipe brings out the distinctive characteristics of each distillery – a pot still barley whisky distilled at Hioki and single malt whisky distilled at Kanosuke. Both spirits are matured at Kanosuke Distillery, continuing a tradition of cask aged spirits started by our second generation owner, Kanosuke Komasa. Looking forward his two grandsons now continue his journey of crafting next the generation spirits from Kagoshima’s mellow coast.
